NGO to sue Zamfara PDP candidate for child abuse

A Non Governmental Organization, Save the Orphan's Right International (SOI) has condemned in strong term and vowed to sue the Zamfara State PDP Gubernatorial candidate Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare, for engaging thousands of Almajiries between the age of 10 - 14 years for political rally in Gusau the capital of Zamfara State.

In a press conference in Kaduna, Northwestern area of Nigeria, the NGO's Secretary General Mrs. Mary Bulus said," our liaison officer from Zamfara State during the weekend sent to our office some emotional and terrible photographs of some under age children, some of which they were holding sticks and cutlasses chanting the PDP Gubernatorial candidate's songs on the street at about 11:30 in the morning.

Mrs Bulus added that the PDP candidate have violated the four principles of the convention on the Right of the Child worldwide namely..

1..Non-Discrimination.

2..Best interests of the Child Children.

3.. The Right to survival and development.

4..The views of the Child.

"As such, we have directed Save the Orphan's Right international team of lawyers to sue Zamfara State PDP Gubernatorial candidate for Child labor and abuse, as we can not fold our arms to allow some politicians to be using under age as their campaign tools." Mrs Bulus hinted.

Mrs, Bulus further said that, "our investigation also confirmed that the PDP candidate paid a token of N50,000 each to 11 Islamic school Malams to mobilize 2000 Almajiries for him to attend his Gusau rally after his Sokoto Appeal Court victory judgement to contest for Zamfara State number one seat under the platform of the People's Democratic Party, PDP.

Alledged Infidelity: Local government chairman accused for secret deal with governor wife.

Insiders from the Zamfara State government House has accused Gusau Local government chairman Honourable Abubakar Imam for having close relationship with first lady Her Excellency Hajiya Huriya Dauda Lawal, the wife of the Executive governor of Zamfara State.
